Together you’ll make it out
We’ve been building our own escape rooms and VR escape rooms since 2016, and today we have three locations: Nienburg, Leipzig and Hannover. You can play every room in English, with the odd German word left in here and there. Each room’s booking page tells you whether English is available, and the VR titles come in many languages anyway.
About us
Who we are
We’re a creative team that brings people of every age closer together through shared experiences. We run classic escape rooms, VR escape rooms and tailor-made team events, including events built for museums. We’ve built our rooms ourselves from the very beginning: our own ideas, our own concepts, mostly built with our own resources and fitted out by our own team. In 2018 we designed, built and ran the first escape room in a German museum, at the Landesmuseum Hannover. The aim is the same for every room: that it’s genuinely worth playing.
Quality, service and fun matter a lot to us. For VR we deliberately use tethered high-end headsets, because the graphics are better and the experience runs more smoothly. Artur Hammerschmidt and Alexander Mietz founded Escape in Nienburg in 2016. Today we welcome guests at three locations: Nienburg, Leipzig (since 2018) and Hannover (since 2022).
Our mission
Why we do this
Our aim is simple: we want people to go through something together here that they grow from, as a family, a group of friends, a school class or a team from work. A good escape room is a short break from everyday life and a proper challenge at the same time, one you can only crack together. That’s exactly where the appeal lies. And the more of daily life happens on screens, the more an hour like this is worth: standing in a room together and solving something with your own hands. Those are the hours we build.
It matters to us that you’re not just herded through. Every group is looked after personally, and we make sure everyone leaves feeling good, even when a puzzle doesn’t crack straight away. What we offer suits families, companies, school groups, children’s birthday parties (from about age 10, depending on the room), VR fans and anyone who wants an adventure together.

The Spielerpass
Your Spielerpass (our player pass) collects a badge for every room you play, along with your photos and your times. Every new level adds drinks and discounts to your credit, once per level, and that credit never expires. No sign-up, no app store, no email address. The pass belongs to you, not to us. After the game, just scan the QR code one of our team shows you, and the pass does the rest.

Which escape projects have you built for museums?
Three of them. One is still running. The other two have ended.
Escape Tour at the Deutsches Pferdemuseum in Verden
Running
Since 2023, a joint project of the museum and Escape Hannover. You travel 55 million years back in time with Professor Quantus, solving more than 20 puzzles as you go through the exhibition rooms. About 90 minutes, good for families, school groups and anyone who likes horses.

Finished
For the Stiftung Kloster Dalheim, LWL-Landesmuseum für Klosterkultur, we built a bespoke escape room in the historic vaulted cellar to tie in with their special exhibition on conspiracy theories. That project has ended and the room can no longer be played.
Escape at the Landesmuseum Hannover
Finished
Our first museum project, back in 2018. Klosterkammer Hannover, the Landesmuseum Hannover and Escape Nienburg built it together for the special exhibition “Schatzhüterin. 200 Jahre Klosterkammer Hannover”. It has since ended.
